Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues:
I am updating my email list again so let me know if you want to unsubscribe.
I wanted to announce that I have navigated my way through another disappointment with only one day of tears and "Why me Lord?" I once again tried to fit in where I was not wanted. This obsession I have to be accepted by human beings has to go. I am the proverbial duckling who won't leave the nest even when she finds out she is a swan.
I will spare you the details, but let's say my sojourn into Christianity has passed. I grew up Christian and have always wanted to be a Christian but the people I have met lately have lost sight of the basics: God does not just want us to only love one another. He wants us to treat each other in loving ways. This means accepting people with different points of view.
Christ believed in civil disobedience. He protested at the temple with the money changers. He broke the Sabbath. He put love ahead of the law. The establishment [conservatives] silenced him. But his message was left behind even if it is interpreted in different ways throughout the world.
In leaving religion behind, I am not abandoning the Holy Spirit. She is with me always and has told me to "let go and let God." She reminded me that a prophet is never accepted in his own land." So I am going overseas to Kenya to concentrate on my orphans.
Take care. Susannah
