As a ten year old, I used to ready books about missionaries. What I remember most was how hard they work. I wanted to be a missionary myself but I got distracted.
Since Frank died I have had an urgency to help the poor like mother Teresa. I am reading, Come Be My Light, about her life.
I am 71 and cannot do the heavy lifting required to be a missionary. I also have no money to give. So I prayed about it and God me an idea. He said to go out to where the missionaries are and work with people who are experiencing a mental health crisis.
My current charity is the Christian Women's Union. It is a group in Kenya who take care of the orphans in their village. There leader is Pastor John.
Recently John has been depressed so I am spending my counseling him so he has the will to carry on. I can do this through the computer.
I also take some time to talk to the homeless I meet. I ask them their name and spending some time with them as they are often depressed.
If you have the heart of Christ there is always something you can do to help others as Christ asked us to do.
