My name is Susan Peabody and I am a writer and counselor. My goal is to help people feel better about themselves and about life. I specialize in helping men and women heal their relationships with themselves and others.
I am currently working on my memoirs which is entitled Standing in the Light. Right now it is 32 pages long and attached to this post as a PDF File.
Susannah is my Christian name In 1982, I found God and spirituality in Alcoholics Anonymous. I went on to discover I was a love addict. Then I started a "Women Who Love Too Much Meeting." Then I taught "Addiction to Love" at Piedmont Adult School. Then I wrote my book, Addiction to Love. Then my students started asking me for advice and I began to counsel them.
In 2015, I had another spiritual experience. My spirit guide, Spirit, told me that Christ really did die for our sins and was resurrected and that I should get with the program."
After this I tried going to church, but it did not work out because I was a progressive. I am still working finding a church. Meanwhile I pray and meditate a lot.
Spirit told me to go out and work with children. I went to a church to teach Sunday School and they said I was too unstable (because I was so excited). I tried to be a Court-Appointed Special Advocate, for children, and they said my history of mental illness was a problem.
Painful endings always turn in to new beginnings, so I found an orphanage in Kenya whom I support.
I am 71, a recovering love addict and codependent, and I love Christ. My husband just died so I have a lot of time on my hands. I live alone in a room over a church. I am looking at the world around me and trying to help. Our children need help. Our homeless need help. I need help.
I am currently working on a new book entitled Standing in the Light. It will be a compilation of all my Christian writings which you can also find on this board.
